The 10-year MOC cycle effort demonstrates to both your patients and outside entities that you are current in your understanding of podiatric procedures and capable of delivering ongoing quality care in the rapidly growing and complex field of podiatric medicine.
There is data to suggest that MOC is associated with improved patient outcomes, higher physician compensation and fewer disciplinary actions.
What is the MOC?
After becoming Board Certified with ABPM, all Diplomates are required to enroll into the Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program the following year. This serves as your form of re-credentialing through a 10-year cycle.
Why the MOC?
The MOC program is a critical step in board certification. It is intended to strengthen a Diplomate’s practice and ultimately improve patient safety and clinical outcomes. The 10-year effort demonstrates to both your patients and outside organizations that you are current in your understanding of podiatric procedures and capable of delivering ongoing quality care in the rapidly growing and complex field of podiatric medicine.
NEW!!! ABPM Launches easy-to-use MOC Dashboard
In an ongoing effort to serve our diplomates, the ABPM has created a platform that will let you upload your license(s) and CME’s, and allow you to document other required components quickly and easily.
This new platform has a user-friendly dashboard to help you quickly inspect the status of your MOC requirements. It has built-in color-coded graphics to make it easy to see completed items and/or items needing your immediate attention.
Upon completing required components, the new platform will email you completion notifications, as well as periodically remind you (via email) about incomplete items.
