Effective January 1, 2026, the MOC program transitioned to Continuing Certification (CC).
You are no longer required to track MOC points or submit documentation of those points. Instead, you will be required to complete a 60-question annual assessment. The new assessment is available online at your ABPM member dashboard and through the ABPM App, available for download here.
The process is designed to be flexible and convenient. You may take the annual assessment at any time before November 30 of the innagural 2026 cycle year. In subsequent years the due date will be November 1. You can pause, take a break, and return to complete the assessment as many times as you need.
The purpose of the assessment is to foster continued learning. If you answer incorrectly, at the end of the assessment you will be prompted with the correct answer or provided with an article where the information can be found. Incorrect responses are not punitive; rather they provide learning to aid you on your life-long educational journey.
No. The assessment is not scored in a traditional pass/fail manner. Completing the assessment and participating in the remediation process fulfills the annual requirement.
The annual assessment is required to maintain certification. If it is not completed by the deadline, your certification status may be impacted. Reminders will be sent throughout the year.
The assessment will be available through your ABPM Member Dashboard—and can be completed online through your computer or through the ABPM App, available for download here.
Responses help us identify areas where diplomates may benefit from additional resources or education. Individual responses are not shared publicly or used punitively.
Yes. ABPM will send multiple email reminders during the year so you have ample time to complete the assessment when it works best for your schedule. Please be sure the email address in your member dashboard is current and up to date.
If you are currently in a prepaid 10-year MOC cycle, you will continue under that payment arrangement until your cycle ends. After your 10-year cycle concludes, you will move into the annual payment schedule used for Continuing Certification. The certification requirements are the same for all diplomates regardless of which payment cycle they are in.
